Life Extension’s Super Absorbable CoQ10 with d-Limonene provides the ubiquinone form of Q10 in a super-emulsified formulation that increases the amount of coenzyme Q10 absorbed. Supports heart, aging, oxidation, vision, the immune system and much more.

The mitochondria are the cells’ energy powerhouses, and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an essential component of healthy mitochondrial function.30 CoQ10 is required to convert the energy from fats and sugars into usable cellular energy. Yet, the body’s production of CoQ10 declines significantly with advancing age.31 With an ample amount of CoQ10, mitochondria can work most efficiently throughout the entire body – including the most densely populated area, the heart.32 CoQ10 is also a potent antioxidant, helping protect proteins, and DNA of mitochondria from oxidation and supporting mitochondrial function.30

More people are supplementing with CoQ10 than ever before. One reason is increased awareness that “statin” drugs used to lower LDL and cholesterol deplete CoQ10 levels in the blood, and possibly the tissues.33,34

What most doctors don’t know, however, is that normal aging may result in more of a reduction in CoQ10 than taking statins. For example, while statin drugs have been shown to reduce plasma CoQ10 by nearly 40%,35 the aging process reduces CoQ10 levels in the heart muscle wall by 72%.36 What is particularly frightening is the deficit caused by the dual effects of aging and statin drug use that can result in severe depletion of cellular vitality.35

Over the past 30 years Q10 (CoQ10) has had hundreds of published and peer-reviewed studies demonstrating its ability to protect heart health.1 New research has suggested CoQ10 may also offer other important benefits. Studies indicate it may:

  • Protect against photo-aging and melanoma2-4
  • Help to delay or avert breast and prostate cancers1,5-7
  • Improve blood sugar control in diabetics8,9
  • Support endothelial dysfunction10-12
  • Slow the progression of Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases13-15
  • Help reduce the amount of migraine headaches16,17
  • Support the immune system10,18-20
  • Help with visual health including age-related macular degeneration21,22
  • Prevent periodontal disease1,10
  • Improve male fertility10,27,28

CoQ10 is essential for all cells to function properly. Because of that, may different conditions and diseases are positively affected by supplementation. Coenzyme Q10 may be as important as vitamin C to maintaining good health and combating the effects of aging.29

d-Limonene is a natural compound in orange oil that disperses and breaks down the CoQ10 particles, which reduces their size and makes CoQ10 more absorbable by the body.
