Numerous studies document the multiple health benefits of daily low dose aspirin. Aspirin helps to maintain normal platelet aggregation in blood vessels via several mechanisms, including suppressing thromboxane H2, prostaglandin E2, and possibly C-reactive protein.116-133
Studies suggest that a low-dose aspirin therapy reduces the risk of cardiovascular events by 21% as well as a:1
- 26% reduction in the risk of non-fatal myocardial infarctions
- 25% reduction in the risk of strokes
- overall mortality risk reduction by 13%
