Part X – Vitamin K

In this week’s blog, featuring vitamin K, we move ever so close to the end of our course detailing the “11 essentials” to a healthy supplemental regimen. We’ll continue to discard most of the medical jargon and be sure to lay out what an optimal supplement routine looks like. Our curriculum will cover the 11 areas that are most critical for treatment on a bi-weekly, session by session basis. Our focus areas are as follows:

  1. Multivitamins
  2. Omega – 3 Fatty Acids
  3. Coenzyme Q10
  4. Mitochondrial Function
  5. Hormone Balance (DHEA)
  6. Brain Function
  7. Bone Health
  8. Neural and Hepatic Health
  9. Vitamin D Levels
  10. Vitamin K
  11. Men’s & Women’s Health

Session 10: Vitamin K:

Most people are familiar with vitamins A, B, C, and even D, but few have knowledge of the powerful effects of vitamin K. Vitamin K is created and used by the body to help with clotting the blood, as well as playing an important role in bone health. Several scientific studies have shown an association between higher vitamin K intake and reduced risks of hip fractures! It would make sense then that as you get older and your bones start to weaken, that you may want to look into supplementing with vitamin K, especially if you do not eat many leafy green vegetables, or your family has a history of osteoporosis or heart disease.

Life Extension Super BoosterAs with vitamin D, there are several different forms of vitamin K, each variety working similarly to promote a general purpose. Out of the three different forms, we offer Life Extension’s Super Booster Softgels With Advanced K2 Complex. This Softgel accounts for both forms of vitamin K recommended for consumption, as well as several other great nutrients combined into one daily capsule. We keep you healthy and save you money, and what can beat that?

As always, if you have specific concerns or conditions, we at DR Vitamin Solutions would be happy to make more specific supplement recommendations to complement your basic foundation. You can leave us a comment here, or use the contact information listed on our website.

Men’s & Women’s Health is our next and final feature in the series, and we will dive into the details in the next couple of weeks. Be sure to keep an eye out for it!
