Session 5: Hormone Balance (DHEA):
As the session title hints, DHEA plays an important role with regards to the hormone balance in the body. For men, this means that DHEA supports testosterone production, and for women, estrogen. Because your body’s natural production of DHEA peaks in your mid-20s, you want to include DHEA in your supplement regimen as you age as your DHEA production starts to gradually decline.
Since DHEA, often called the “Mother of All Hormones,” is the precursor to several hormones including testosterone and estrogen, DHEA supplementation in both men and women is common. It is important to have adequate levels of DHEA in order to balance hormone levels. The benefits of DHEA are abundant, and it plays an important part in your anti-aging fight. Some studies have pointed to joint health, depression relief, an increase in sex drive, and higher levels of DHEA-S as products of proper DHEA supplementation. The benefits don’t stop there, as DHEA can also benefit memory, mood, EEG readings, and supplementation may help in part to prevent Alzheimer’s disease! The list goes on and on, but you get the idea.
One of our exclusive products, Zeptil Micronized DHEA, offers DHEA supplementation through a 1 oz spray bottle. For those who would like an alternative method, we have you covered, as the DR Vitamin store also offers DHEA supplementation in capsules or dissolvable mouth tablets. Feel free to browse our store and find the best fit for you. Please consult your doctor for appropriate DHEA serum level testing and other blood tests before supplementing with DHEA.
As always, if you have specific concerns or conditions, we at DR Vitamin Solutions would be happy to make more specific supplement recommendations to compliment your basic foundation. You can leave us a comment here, or use the contact information listed on our website.
